Lazy Joe’s Fish and Chips | Las Vegas Restaurant Review

August 17, 2023

If you have been on a gluten-free diet for a while then I am sure that you have noticed how hard it is to find a restaurant that offers fried gluten-free food that is made in a dedicated fryer. I am so thankful that we have a few options here in Las Vegas and Lazy Joe’s Fish and Chips is a great one!

Location:

7835 South Rainbow Blvd.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Don’t expect anything fancy with the décor at Lazy Joe’s, but you will find a clean, and simple restaurant, with a good selection of gluten-free options. While they aren’t a dedicated gluten-free restaurant, they are very knowledgeable about gluten-free food and cross-contamination. They have safe dedicated fryers for their gluten-free food. The menu is clearly marked for gluten-free.

The Food:

They have a large assortment of gluten-free offerings, with things such as onion rings, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and fish and chips. They offer Mediterranean dishes, which are not marked as gluten-free because they include sides of rice and pita bread that are not gluten-free. However, you can order the meat from those plates and substitute another side instead of the rice and pita bread to make the plates gluten-free. My oldest son loves the beef kabob and he gets french fries instead of the gluten sides. You will want to steer clear of any of their buns, rolls, wraps, pita bread, and hush puppies as these items are NOT gluten-free. The food is made fresh with their house-made gluten-free batter. For fried food, it is surprisingly not greasy at all. They offer a few gluten-free desserts as well, which is a fun bonus! The dessert selections come from a local dedicated gluten-free bakery, Senza Bakery.

Overall, this is a great little spot to grab a yummy gluten-free meal that your non-gluten-free friends will enjoy too! Happy Eating!
